'Red Ruffles' Another Belgian hybrid, 'Red Ruffles" is
also known as "Redwing". Flowers are bright red
hose-in-hose with ruffled petal edges. They tolerate more
sun than many other varieties and so are a good choice
for Florida where their low, spreading habit is making
them a popular ground cover. I have a bed of them beneath
a large cleyera whose
red-tinted new growth coordinates beautifully with
Redwing's blossoms - very pretty!
