  • Description
Leaders is a Palestinian non governmental organisation that started its activities in 2002 by a group of Birzeit University students. In 2004, the organisation was formally registered with the Palestinian National Authority. At the time, it was established to allow youths to participate in serving their society. Since then, Leaders have established a reputation for working with, serving, and empowering youths in Palestine to become true leaders in their communities. It has continuousy provided young Palestinians with the chance to express their views and act for a peaceful and democratic society both in Palestine and abroad.

Leaders has actively contributed to many activities in Palestine. Initially its volunteers worked on building the capacity of the students movement through training and workshops. Leaders’ workshops were oriented towards the development of Palestinian democracy focusing on participation, elections and the role of youths.

Members have also been afforded several training workshops and conferences on various themes on issues such as advocacy for gender , political participation and migration.

Leaders is currently involved in a Euro-Med Youth Project named “Breaking the vicious cycle”. The project brings youths from around the Mediterranean and Europe together in an attempt to bridge differences and promote understanding of different cultures and combat stereotypes.
